we just migrated to london from canada and dh wanted me to plan a weekend getting away for easter. i know there is so much to do in and around london but do want to get away as we need a little holiday to de-stress the relation and house hunting!

any recommendations? please? we have 2 DDs, 3 years and 1 years. currently no car, would prefer travel by train. what type of accommodation would you recommend? we used to book cottages or one bedroom hotel suite (with kitchen) so we can sleep in the bedroom and living room and can prepare food for the little ones.. what do you do over here?

TIA

You could get the train straight to Edinburgh, fantastic for little ones and no need for a car. There are plenty of 2 bed apartments you can rent, have just posted on another thread, will see if I can link. The museum is great for little ones, princes street gardens, botanic gardens, the zoo, and generally just a nice place to walk around. I know it's another capital city, but it does feel very relaxed and small compared to London.
