help needed... welsh MN please

hello,
have booked a caravan in Trecco Bay [Porthcawl]for me, DH and DCs in August.

we have never been to this part of wales before - what places are there to visit and any advice for me
DCs are 7yo and 5yo.

Porthcawl is between Swansea and Cardiff.

There is also Museum of Welsh Life at St fagans

Both cardiff and swansea are nice cities with museums etc.

The Gower coast is amazing Gower

Countryside is lovely too, Caerleon for Roman amphitheatre etc Caerleon

If you want a cheap day out and the weather is dry Margam Park is worth a visit and just down the road from Porthcawl. You only £3.50 for park the car. There is a lovely wooden play area ones and a fairytale village. It's a lovely place to walk, I take the dog there regularly.
