We're planning on venturing to York for a short break in the summer hols. Jorvik centre, National Railway Museum, York Minster etc.
Can you recommend a place to stay (2 adults, 2 under-5's), preferably in the city centre. We don't mind cheap and cheerful, motels, B&B, travel lodge etc or going a bit more upmarket.
Thanks in advanc efor your help!

Look up the Queens Hotel

The Blue Rooms Fossgate is a lovely central area, near the river, quirky shops and restaurants, and a general nice atmosphere.

It's also spitting distance from Jorvik, Cliffird's tower etc.

we stayed in the novotel for £65 a night, i'd look it up. breakfast was lovely, hotel really pleasant and modern inside, staff friendly, and there was a swimming pool.
