Apart from the sea zoo thing and Canaerfon castle. We have done those already as day trips from the Lleyn.

We have a 4 and a 5 year old (dds) so anything involving soft fluffy animals, bunnies, ponies etc etc.

Indoor play hell holes centres as well, but nice ones. Nothing attached to a brewsters fair thankyouverymuch.

Oh and a GOOD family pub recommendation too please.

thankyooooooooou

slubber, we have similar photos
Me, my brother and sister , in the sea, in our costumes with water up to thigh, with our anoracks on to keep the top half warm
Loved it though
There used to never really be anyone else on the beach

all part of going on 'proper' Btitish summer holidays isn't it?

I'm rather looking forward to it now.

Have you seen my crabman link Slubber?

Slubberdegullion · 17/07/2009 17:10

I have moony, thank you. All printed off and in the file. It does reduce the aspect of mystery and adventure though. I was secretly hoping the "hunt for moondog's crab man" was going to become an annual event for family deGullion. We would never find him of course and it would become a standing joke, passed down from generation to generation.

In 50 years time my great grand daughter would ask "who was moondog?" and no one would know...

Thanks to all for the advice, we did nearly everything

Pili palas is quite dodgy but we defrosted in the butterfly house and the dds loved the giant bouncy castle. I held a snake for the first time ever so that was quite exciting.

Foel farm, gawd they made their money out of us that day, mostly through dd1 playing God with the animal food and going round and round and round the sheep/cow shed feeding the creatures she felt were giving her due respect and deference. dd2 held a rabbit for about 50mins, the rabbit ate 3 holes in her coat, dh was oblivious, I was cross.
Good coconut cake.

Beamaris castle was excellent. Dh was thrilled with the design and off-set portcullis. My word Edward I was prolific wasn't he?
We had to sample two cafes next to bunting emporia as I wasn't sure which was the right one. The cafe opposite the post office did a lovely pea nad ham soup. om nom

Henblas Parc Farm really is super shoddy, but yet again the dds were oblivious to their parents being fleeced. Beano the clown was hilariously rubbish, his song in welsh with a little girl brought a tear to the eye.
Tuna and cheese toasty was horrid and repeated badly.

where else did we go.

Church bay was sweet.

Nice cup of tea at Treaddur Bay hotel. Jelly fish a mungo on the beach though. bleugh.

The windmill is worth a visit. Very attractive and jolly sub-miller. Marvellous lemon merengue pie in the cafe.

Oh oh and we found this smokery place, name escapes me now, BLOODY MARVELLOUS BACON, like gamon steaks it was mm mm.

We went to Plas Newydd too. The dds loved the big mural thing that appears to move as you walk around the room. Nice gardens too with excellent slopes for rolling down.

Pointy, no sadly there was no shearing at Henblas.

There was a fantastic comedy moment when Beano the clown had to extract his hand from his ventriloquist dummy?s rabbit?s bottom in order to leap from the stage-come-sheep-shearing- platform to wave down the decrepit and wizened old geezer driving the tractor for the tractor rides before he mowed down a mummy duck and her little brood of ducklings.

I turned to DH and said ?You?d never see THAT at Eurodisney?

Greenwood Forest Park is an absolute winner. Try Sands Holiday Homes for lovely self catering accommodation. x
