Someone I know suggested going to Rye with children for a short break. Has anyone been? What is there to do and where is there to stay? Many thanks

My SIL parents live there. Stoney beach at Winchelsea, afternoon tea up cobbled streets, great fish and chips, junk/antique shops, harbour............ not really selling this!!?? Havent been since I had DS1 but my parents were there last week with SIL and DD3yrs old. they found plenty to do - but you would have to go out and about from Rye. Battle, Drusilla's, Dungeness
Good memories as its the seaside that is not spoilt by anyhting commercial - just the simple pleasures and you can walk on the beach for miles adn miles. Caravn park at Camber Sands if thats more your thing??

sounds good to me - not sure how toddlers would like it though

We've just moved there stressed! Loads to do for kids - Camber Sands beach is wonderful. My kids love it now we've moved. Plus I can finally meet if you do make it! Plenty of hotels in Rye as well as caravans at park resorts in Camber (where we are at the moment). I daren't recommend any private rentals via this message as mnet towers will think they are my vans and will delete it. (they're not!).
