Longleat Area

We are thinking of going to centre parcs at Longleat this year. We live in Central Scotland and want to make the journey worth while.

Does any body have any ideas about where we could go for a few days while we are in that area. Is Longleat itself worth a visit? How about Bath? Is there anywhere nice by the coast. South Wales perhaps?

Thanks

You're not too far from the south coast from Longleat. Bournemouth/Poole area would involve a lot less travelling than a detour to South Wales. What about the New Forest?

Longleat will fill atleast one day, you buy a passport which will let you enter and then you just get it stamped as you do each activity. I love Bath, how old are your kids? There is an American Museum, Roman Baths, etc. Bristol has a lot to do to Explore, SS Great Britain. You could go to Weston Super Mare (traditional fish and chips seaside town) and Clevedon (a bit more up market).

Longleat- here (S Wales) about 1hr 45 I reckon, very do-able if youre thinking in terms of distance from Scotland, but also very do-able as a 2-dayer with bristol I think ('nearer' parts wortha trip- Cardiff, Caerleon (museum and amphitheatre), St Fagan's Museum......

But also yes, Devon ? Dorset etc hugely wortha trip, I like the charmouth way myself

You know jb I've never been to Clevedon ever (I come ferom Somerset). Wonder why that is? Must detour there

Boys are 11 and 4.

I would love a few days in Bath I think. After indulging them with Centre Parcs they can put up with a few days of shopping/sightseeing which is more my thing.

Never been to that part of the country so will look into Weston and Clevedon too.

Thanks

Love Devon and Dorset but I think I would rather not go any further south as its a long drive back up.
