Hello, Can anyone suggest a good lively Mexican or similar restaurant in Brighton. I'm going in May and want to find somewhere we can eat, be noisy and maybe stay all evening! Thanks

I wouldn't say lively, but there is an AMAZING Mexican a few doors down from the Theatre Royal (on New Road, opposite Pavillion Gardens) - I've been there a few times. I believe its called (creatively) El Mexicano. But its definately one of the best in Brighton. Love it down here, its crazy If you need any other suggestions just say the word!! And enjoy yourself.

Oh, and after lunch today (!!!) I would suggest Latino as well, which is on Church Road. The restaraunt is just opposite Hove Town Hall. If you go to this fantastic tapas bar, I suggest the following dishes which my boyfriend and I induldged in this afternoon:

  • Chicken with garlic, tomato and tyme.
  • Tuna salad
  • Deep friend potatoes in spicy sauce (Not too spicy, mainly just yummy!)
  • Garlic bread
  • Meatballs in tomato sauce
  • Stuffed miniture red peppers.

thanks for the suggestions - do you think Latino would be livelyish in the evening? And is El Meicano near any nice bars? I have been to Brighton before and find after having dinner it's really hard to find a good bar to go to. We like it quite lively but hope not to feel like everyones mum! Any suggestions
thanks

I think Latino would be more lively than El Mexicano. And its a bar as well. However, El Mexicano is right in the middle of Brighton, so there are plenty of good places around.

Basically, if you want to stay in one place all night, I;d say Latinos. If you want to move around, you're better with el Mexicanos.

thanks, looked at latino but think we will go for el mexicano as it's central. Where would you go after for the rest of the evening, what bar near there is good for music and chat? thanks for suggestions
