Cotswolds Hotels

Anyone have any good recommendations for some lovely cotswolds hotels. Will be myself, DH and DS who will be 20 months at that time. Would like to keep it around £100 per night for all 3 of us and would pref like to have a swimming pool for DS. Many thanks wise mumsnetters!

I stayed at the Cotswold Water Park hotel which was lovely but it was £270 however that was diner, b & b, carvery sunday lunch, 2 x spa treatments and use of leisure facilities. They do have apartments and you can still use pool. Worth checking the price though!

I got a flier through the post for The Old Bell, Hotel and Resturant in Malmesbury (10 mins from Tetbury and Westonbirt Arboreteum) They have a £99 B/B offer for March/April. (excluding 11/12th April & 2 night stay is required if staying on a Saturday. Although no pool its only a 10 min walk to a small local leisure centre with a great pool.

Forgot to Mention Calcot Manor, also near Tetbury - has pool although limited times for DC.

Depends where you want to be in the Cotswolds, but the Evesham Hotel is fab, very very child friendly, and has a nice pool. It is rather eccentric, but it was a pleasure to stay there with DS

Thanks, oh i was going to book the water park - we have to go 23 - 24th May bank holiday weekend - it was £112.50 per night inc breakfast. Everything else seems to be booked or completely out of price range. But I am know intrigued by Evesham as I do want a bit of olde world charm - looking on tripadvisor - sounds like the owner is barking mad! On a side note has anyone been to Tortworth Four Pillars - they were doing rates for £95 per night?

The owner is barking mad - and that makes it great with small children. They didn't object in the least to what DS did with a bowlfull of stewed prunes at breakfast, and served up his tea with all the ceremony of dinner

They provide everything like nappy bags, nappies, baby bath, books, toys, swim nappies, arm bands, proper childrens cutlery. You can even borrow a car if you need one

CMOT - i phoned the Evesham they said £158 per night - is it worth that?

TBH, no, probably not. For that sort of price you could look at the Lygon Arms at Broadway which is gorgeous - I haven't stayed there, but we live near (we stayed at the Evesham hotel when we were relocating here).

The Waterpark hotel is very in the middle of nowhere, and isn't in the Cotswolds btw. Not sure if that is an issue for you

CWPH is near South Cerney which is not far from Cirencester.

Thanks for the suggestions, we decided to go with the Lygon Arms, £288 for 2 nights - way over the price i wanted to pay but it looks lovely and Broadway looks beautiful. CMOT I am very that you live in those parts!

Your DS would love the Cotswolds Farm Park whilst you are in the area, also the miniature steam railway at the Evesham Country Park.

Broadway is totally gorgeous. One of my favourite drives is coming down Fish Hill and seeing the Vale spread out in front of you - we live down there, rather than up in the Cotswolds, but it is truly a lovely area
