DS1 is going to an interview at Warwick Uni in a couple of weeks. Can anyone recommend a hotel with easy access to Coventry train station/city centre as (I think) the bus to the Uni goes from there.

Thanks so much. Had a look and it looks fine but £64 a night (he needs to stay for two because of the interview times). Is that about right for round there?

Goodness that sounds a bit - but I suppose it is mid week and most hotels get full around the midlands midweek, due to a shortage of rooms.

What days is he going for the interview?

motheroftwoboys · 21/02/2009 18:16

The interview is on Wednesday but he needs to be there for 9.30 a.m. for a talk. His actual interview is 4.30 which means he needs to stay over again. I searched and have found a deal at the Britannia hotel which is central (mixed reviews but that won't bother him) got it for £68 for the two nights through lastminute.com. Also got reasonable train fares. It all adds up. He is going to applicants days in Glasgow and Manchester too but Glasgow is just a day trip for us (we are in Newcastle) and he can stay with a mate in Manchester.

The Brittania (a dump) is bang in the middle of Coventry but Warwick Uni is about 3/4 miles out of the city so he'll need good advice on catching the right bus or get a taxi. Warwick Uni itself is brilliant though, a completely self contained campus and well deserved reputation in the academic arena by all accounts (from friends who were there).
