Looking at going for a week with two little ones (4 & 5) - any thoughts or ideas? Would welcome some local knowledge

Chester Zoo - not cheap but a good day out.

Grosvenor Park is near city centre, and has a nice playground.

Walk by the River Dee, you can see the ducks and boats.

Walk on the wall around the city.

Go to:

Nice park in centre of Chester
Walk round walls
Do boat trip
Do open top bus

Further afield:
Chester Zoo
Crocky Park if weather good
Beeston Castle
Blue Planet aquarium

Don't live too local so can't help on general stuff.

as long as they can walk a good distance - couple of miles round the walls is lovely. defo not pram territory though!!
town centre is nice
good days "in" if it's freezing cold or raining - blue planet (look into clubcard deals and stuff, it's not cheap tho i think they do a family ticket) and northgate arena - swimming pool with slides and stuff in the city centre near the walls.
how long are you around here for?

That cottage is in Handbridge which is the nearest suburb of Chester...unless you go out of town you won't have to drive at all.

My Grandmother used to live in Handbridge and would take mini-me into Chester on foot to see the rows, to the Library and museaum.

It would be a good location if they have aavailibility when you want to go.

Go into Liverpool - and on Wirral side in Seacombe you've got the Spaceport. Also various castles in North Wales. There is loads to do!
