What would you choose?

We are looking for a cottage in Pembrokeshire.

Would you go for option 1:
A beautiful old cottage, small, but cosy in a hamlet five mins drive from the coast and nearest town. Nice outdoor space and lovely decor. (I would like to live there). With dishwasher.

Or option 2:
An ugly but practical and spacious bungalow, walking distance to the coastal path and to a large village with shops and restaurants. No dishwasher.

Children will be 6 and 4.

Over to you....

Option 1 - outdoor space and nice decor. Yes please.

Probably option 2, because do you really want to have to jump in the car to get a pint of milk? Also, because being walking distance to the pub is always a priority for us

Option 1. Quality/enjoyment of holiday overall is directly proportional to quality of accommodation, IME.

Where we live now we have to drive everywhere so we are used to planning shopping (if that makes sense and doesn't sound too patronising .)

I want the cottage.

DH wants the coastal walks / access to shops/pub...

I can see his point with my head, but heart is ruling. That and the lack of dishwasher.....

Option 1 for me.... I hate not having a dishwasher - especially on holiday [lazy slattern emoticon]

Thank you. Option 2 have suggested they might be getting a dishwasher before we visit. I have emailed to say if they do we would love to book there. If not we go to the cottage. DH is happy to use this as a way to decide.
I hope they won't say yes.....Eeek!
