Holiday ideas needed - help if you can!

Hi - looking for a s/c holiday for 2 couples and 2 kids 3 and 5. Needs to be somewhere between Reading and Greater Manchester! Would prefer coast.

Any ideas? I'm thinking Wales probably but where??????

Pembrokeshire is nice. Fab beaches, castles etc...Not great on geography, but it is on the welsh coast. Stayed in a great Landmark Trust place some years ago, but not sure that would be very child-friendly. Was before kids!

Lovely National Trust cottages on the Stackpole Estate in Pembrokeshire; a couple of nice beaches nearby and not far from Tenby.

I am thinking North Wales. Criccieth is pretty and near Portmeirion and Portmadog.

We camped near there, though there were loads of caravan parks/b & bs/hotels.

You are in Snowdonia so think mountains, steam trains, sandy beaches and sheep.
