Holiday in Wales

Looking to holiday in Wales this summer, but havent been since I was a child.

Has anyone been to Llanelli?? Have seen some nice apartments to rent in Millenium Quay right on the beach at Llanelli, does anyone know of them??

Any other recommendations of where to stay would be great. Kids are 5 and 3, so need some activities and beach close by.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

We stayed here in aprilhere
It is slightly nearer to pembroke than llanelli but was absolutely lovely. Dont know how much it cost though as went with MIL.

If you fancy North Wales we stayed in a lovely cottage there too near porthmadog

Wales is lovely - I live there!

Not sure if this is any help

Llanelli????

Crikey, I can think of better places to go for a holiday than Llanelli.

Is Tenby too far? Or that area around South Pembrokeshire. Loads of gorgeous beaches and things for kids to do.

Lleyn peninsula is lovely or Snowdonia
Pembrokeshire

Does anyone know what the area around Haverfordwest is like?

I have seen a great cottage called Scolton Home Farm which is ten minute drive from Haverfordwest.

Thanks in advance for your replies.

Area around H'west is lovely. Lovely beaches to the west of it and within easy reach of the touristy stuff near Tenby. In fact, loads of good stuff round there.

Much nicer than Llanelli!

sweetcat · 09/01/2009 17:15

Another vote for Tenby or NewQuay, close by.

North Wales is far superior though. Not that I live there or anything. Abersoch, Porthmadog, Barmouth, Harlech - all gorgeous. Go on, you know you want to

LoveMyLapTop · 09/01/2009 17:17

TEnby and surrounding are better than Llaneli
South better than North!

pointydog · 09/01/2009 17:22

Anglesey is lovely too. More pricey. Better to stay in N Wales and have a couple of day tripes to Anglesey.

sweetcat · 09/01/2009 17:28

North rules! Proper welsh we are

llareggub · 09/01/2009 17:30

I truly could not imagine holidaying in Llanelli!

Have your considered the Gower, or Pembrokeshire?

differentID · 09/01/2009 17:33

Pembrokeshire- I grew up there and the scenery is amazing.

Ruthiebabes · 10/01/2009 12:22

Thanks for your replies.

I have now booked a week at Scolton Home farm nr Haverfordwest. Looking forward to it.

They look nice Ruthie, be sure to visit St DaVIDS, the refectory in the cathedral does lovley lunches, and the seal/ dolphin spotting trips go from there.

bananapaddlepop · 10/01/2009 16:16

Another vote for Lleyn pennisula. North Wales is stunning.

sellorrenovate · 10/01/2009 16:50

This place is great with children (Lleyn Peninnsula) www.gwynfrynfarm.co.uk/

llareggub · 11/01/2009 11:24

solanum, Rhossili beach is massive, and although parts of it are relatively busy, it is so big it is easy to find a quiet spot. Have a look:
