Salcombe - any recommendations for holiday lets?

Hi,
We would like to find a self-catering cottage close to the beach at Salcombe, Devon, or near that area. It will be two adults, a 3 year old and a one year old - so 2 or 3 bedrooms ideally. Anyone got any recommendations? It would be for June if that makes a difference!
Thanks in advance

Hi, have a look at www.devonholidayhouses.co.uk The flat would be perfect.

I can thoroughly recommend a cottage we've stayed in the last 2 years, really family friendly, in East Portlemouth which is just across the estuary from Salcombe. It's called Little Downgate and is let by a lady called Celia Strong. Give her a call on 01548 852255 and ask her to send you the information. Hope this helps

We went here in June 2004.

It might be a bit large (we took the in-laws) but it was a lovely cottage with plenty of space. It is up quite a tight lane but it is within walking distance of the creek and Salcombe beyond although it might be a bit of a hike for a 3 yr old.

We liked it enough to consider going back again.

lovely area

be weary about how far uphill from the town you go especially with a 3yo, it is quite steep

you will have to cross over on the ferry to either mill bay, or south sands to go on the beach

try Toad Hall Cottages or Coast and Country. i live near Salcombe, and know that the Tourist Information Centre in Kingsbridge is a good place to start. They will have a comprehensive listings section.

Also, Hope cove is a wonderful quiet, traditional place to stay. The beaches are child friendly and the place is gorgeous.

Hi,
Thanks so much for the recommendations. It all sounds lovely. We're probably going to go with jb707's house, and take the in-laws. I will save the other details for future reference, so thanks again.
