I need help please.

Just to warn you I'm very awkward.
I want to go away with my boyfriend in the april holidays either for a weekend or week.
It needs to be somewhere near a train station and where you can get to places by walking or bus because neither of us can drive. We don't mind what kind of acommodation.
We live in Blackpool so preferably north west/lake distric kind of area please

i know this is not the lake district or northwest but its easy to get to by train - what about Edinburgh. We went a couple of years ago for a long weekend and loved it. There is plenty to do, museums, shopping, good restaurants, plenty of pubs,castle, The city centre is quite big and you can spend along time exploring. There is also a zoo but this is a bit out of town but no doubt you could get a bus or taxi.

Edinburgh is a good plan.

Alternatively Windermere has good public transport links IIRC.

Or York. Similar to Edinburgh, but smaller and closer.
