Weekend away in January.

I want to take my DH away for his birthday, I was going to do the overnight ferry thing to Bruges (we live in Hull) but its coming out at crazy prices, so am re-thinking.

Staying in the UK is fine and I don't want to travel loads anyway - so anywhere within 3 hours of Hull.

We have done York to death, and Leeds is a bit too shopping for him.

Any ideas? Budget is about £200.

I am taking DH away to gretna for his 30th birthday. Every couple of months we get a postcard through the door with the offer of dinner, bed and breakfast for £30 per person per night! It's a nice hotel as well. I don't know what kind of break you want, but there are things to do up there.

The hotel is Gretna Hall Hotel. You could try ringing them to see if you can sign up for the offer? The next one comes out between 25th dec and 1st jan!

I rang P&O and they gave me a decent ferry price and so when i find my credit card I shall book!

What about Nottingham? Look at Harts Hotel or Park Plaza who are doing deals with dinner at Chino Latino - fabulous atmosphere and food.
