Sennybridge.
Has it's own microclimate, you can get all four seasons in one day (but mostly rain).☔🌨️⛈️🌧️🌤️🌪️☔

Sardinia. It rained nonstop for an entire week. Do not go to Sardinia in October.

I went to Kerry a lot as a child on holidays and we always had good weather. Then for 15 years with my boys and husband and again we always had the same. I have hundreds of photos of blue skies and turquoise sea. Yes it rained but it would lash and then the sun would come out 15 minutes later and we would all be out again. Warm a lot of the time there in summer. Of course I know in winter it's not always like that.
Donegal on the other hand , wet and cold a lot of the time!

I spent a week in a caravan on the Isle of Wight with my mum and 2 small children during what must have been the wettest summer on record.

We still had a great time but it was hard work!

Somerset in the New Year of 2015. It was relentless and the poor animals were surviving in waterlogged fields. Some roads were crossed by heavy streams and we seemed to use all of them (on holiday).
The Meadows in Oxford were underwater, too.

Wettest week: Bovey Tracey, Devon. Camping. We were wet through the entire time.

Wettest 24-hours: Polzeath. Cornwall. The whole beach flooded. Nothing to do other than sit in a cafe scoffing cream teas.

Loch Ranza on Arran 💧☔️💧

Mull currently has 30 of 30 ferry cancellations due to wind and rain.

Eyesopenwideawake · 14/10/2026 18:23

Barcelona. Been twice (both in the summer). Been flooded out twice. Apparently the wettest area in Europe.

IndiaSafaris · 21/10/2026 07:44

Probably the Lake District in England! The rain can arrive out of nowhere, but the misty hills and beautiful lakes make it worth getting a little wet. Just remember to pack a good waterproof jacket!

Singapore.
In early monsoon. One day (2hrs) was about 300mm of rain...just ankle deep and flowing into grids on the pavement.

Wales

and I live in Glasgow so that’s going some

RaraRachael · 01/11/2026 22:17

Appleby.

It rained every day and the people in the other cottages went home early.
Couldn't even take the kids out a walk between the rain due to slugs everywhere.

Devon, Exmoor particularly.

Eugh. On a uni field trip; some groups were airlifted out because of the weather.
