Any recommendations for a family trip to Bath please for a few days over October half term?

I would say after you have walked round the Roman baths that there isn’t a lot going on unless you like walking around a pretty town. I felt like I had covered most of it easily within 24hours.

What do you want to know/do?

Holbourne museum is free and interesting with nice park. Then you have Jane Austen museum, Native American museum (outside Bath), Roman baths and thermal spa, fashion museum. There’s prob other stuff but i forgot. Bath gets very busy though in centre. You can do canal boat trips too. The parks (can’t think of names offhand) are very good. There’s a Waitrose there for cheap tea with a Waitrose card. They also have a decent cinema and theatre. Both good.

Thanks both very much! I was slightly concerned about what we might do there with my two teens and 9 year old, maybe I’ll rethink! Thanks for your time.

Perhaps you could stay in Bristol and do a day trip to Bath.

How about the Bath mystery guide (which you can buy online), that way you are solving a mystery which involves lots of key interesting buildings and landmarks and would suit the teen and younger child? You can weave visiting places like the Roman Baths into it and it isn't time limited so lots of time for lunch etc. There are some really nice, inexpensive but unusual places to eat, too

Yes, Bristol with a half day/day in Bath would probably work better.

The Fashion Museum is closed until the new location is ready in 2030.
I would do as someone mentioned and stay in Bristol and make a day trip over to Bath.
I live between both cities and I would say Bristol has more for kids.

You could do the Bizarre Bath comedy walk.
