Stratford upon Avon

We have tickets to see As You Like It in Oct and would be advice on where to stay in Stratford. It is DH, and I and DD15.

What is your budget? We recently stayed at Alveston Manor which was fine abrupt £150 per room but there is a range from Premier Inn to the Arden within walking distance of RSC. If you need parking take that into account in the costing as many charge extra or require you to park offsite (Swans Nest for example).

Premier Inn Central, but you will need to park in the multi storey.
Pen and Parchment pub with rooms, ditto re parking.
Crowne Plaza, large and corporate, with big car park (chargeable).
The Arden, best hotel in Stratford, expensive, own car park.

All of them are a five minute walk (if that!) from the theatre.

I've stayed in all of them many times - all are fine. You just need to decide on your budget. For most options, budget up to £15 per night for parking.

The youth hostel is great if you’re on a budget.

We stayed in the Stratford Manor Hotel which is about a 7 minute drive from Stratford. It has a pool, games room, lots of outdoor space, the breakfast was fab and it had a great bar. I’m planning on going back soon!

There’s a premier inn which had parking and we got a lovely view out of the window of the canal. I don’t normally like premier inns after some disastrous stats, but that one was fine.

It’s premier inn waterways. Not far from everything and definitely had parking.

Just to add-we went to a pizza place called ‘Red Hot Mamma’ which was fab, not overpriced and the pizza was a 10/10 🍕

We like the premier inn Waterway and usually stay there. I thought the breakfast was poor when we stayed recently though.

We’ve stayed in the Arden once. It’s nice and the location is brilliant, but breakfast seemed very limited compared to the rest of the experience and it wasn’t great for a vegetarian who doesn’t like eggs!

If you decide to stay somewhere on a room only basis, Boston Tea Party is nice for breakfast/brunch.

We like the Crowne Plaza and it's very near the theatre.

If you want a B&B rather than a hotel, The Croft on Shipston Road is nice. You can walk from the back door, through the garden, and it brings you out right by the butterfly farm which is very close to the theatre.
