Recommendations for what to do with a young teen for 48 hours in/around Bristol please. I’ve booked The Wave, we’ll definitely do SS Great Britain. Is it worth booking a Banksy tour or easy enough to find it yourself? Teen is into history, tabletop gaming (D&D in particular), nice cafes and all things active (GoApe etc.). Thank you.

Go to Severn Bridge and the Camera Obscura.

Three Brothers Burgers is quite a fun place to eat, it’s on a boat at Welsh Back. The food is great and when we went on a Saturday afternoon there was a real party atmosphere with disco music playing and the staff dancing about having a laugh.

A visit to the Forbidden Planet shop would probably be a good shout for teens, they sell comics, cool tshirts and other merch.

Wtf, don’t go to the Severn bridge. PP might mean Clifton Suspension Bridge, but probably boring for a teen.

Wake the tiger is brilliant. M shed interesting near the ss Great Britain. St Nicholas market, water taxi around the docks.

History: free sites include Red Lodge, Georgian House and the Museum/Art Gallery. If you are into the history of riots, it is a short walk from the dock area to Queen Square where the 1831 riots took place and then... well there are other opportunities.

Swing by Dowry Square if you find the Pneumatic Institute fascinating. Castle Park area for WW2 bomb damage (St Peter's Church). Pubs and Piracy: The Hatchet and the Hole in the Wall and others. Colonialism and slavery? Plenty to explore, I could go on...

My teen thinks zaza bazaar is the best restaurant on earth (me not so much).

Some brilliant suggestions here, thank you all. Another question: I think we’re going to he staying near Cribbs Causeway. Does anyone know how easy it is to get into the centre of town from there?

Do you mean Clifton suspension bridge? Severn bridge is not normally a tourist attraction?

I’m not sure there is a centre of town really, but I’d think of Cabot circus as very central. Lots of buses from round there.

There's a bus terminus at the Mall at Cribbs Causeway (behind Boots). I think that the buses go along Cribbs Causeway (it's the name of the main road as well as the area).If you're out that way there's the Aerospace Museum and The Wild Space (zoo).
When are you going?

30 minutes Cribbs to the College Green area if you drive at a non-peak time.

A self-guided tour better than a guided one I think. Make sure you include finding the empty plinth where Colston isn't, and the bit where he was thrown into the river.

We once did an around-the-city 'escape room' which combines a mini walking tour with puzzle solving using interesting bits of old buildings integrated into the clues. I think it was by the Escape Hunt group and we were given an iPad and a briefcase full of tools to help solve the puzzles.

How different we all are - I loved it, one of my favourite cities. Much preferred it to Bath, which surprisingly was very rowdy, late afternoon and into the evening!

The harbourside in Bristol is great, particularly The Left Handed Giant (games top floor). The community growing planters are such a great idea.

I really like some of the areas of the city too, walking out to independent shops/cafes, co-operatives and vintage.

Are you driving from Cribbs Causeway or getting the bus? Where are you actually staying near Cribbs?

I plan to do SS Great Britain and the Wallace and Gromit exhibition in the summer. The normal M Shed museum is also free, and there are some nice places to eat around there. You can get a water taxi back from the SS Great Britain and wander up Park Street. Cabot Tower is in a nice park off Park Street.
