I'm travelling with a 12 month old. We will need to put him in a single bed on some occasions. How can I make it safe. He is a stomach sleeper sometimes.

Many hotels do supply travel cots. I assume you have asked?

Request a travel cot - most decent hotels will have them - or buy a portable travel cot yourself you can take with you as you move around.
