Traveling to London on Saturday (coming back Sunday) TFL website is confusing me!!!

Saturday we will be here there and everywhere Z1 & 2.

TFL website says daily travel card is £16.60 that does all zones but then says daily cap is £8.90 for Z1&2. So does that mean a daily cap is almost like a daily travelcard?!!

if you use the same contactless card and just tap on and off at stations it'll cap at £8.90 per day if you stay within zone 1 & 2.
