Do Adult/child split ticket bookings with e-tickets need separate QR codes on TrainPal for adult and child?

Help! does anyone know if when using Trainpal to book a split ticket return journey for one adult and one child whether the etickets should have QR codes for the child as only ones for the adult are shown in the trainpal app, the booking email says booking is for 1 adult and 1 child? Does the Adult QR code cover both?

Depends on the age of the child? Think they are free until five? Might be wrong tho, its a long time since mine got free travel. Is there anything on the website about the age?

Hi thanks for replying. Child is 14, the booking for this morning on trainpal in the email confirmation shows that the booking was for 1 adult and 1 child. But the e ticket QR codes just show Adult no ‘child’ QR codes. So unsure if the QR Adult codes cover both DH and DS?! The booking is for split tickets. Cannot find a definitive answer anywhere!

@Chocciebiscuit aggghhh sorry that is so confusing!!! As far as I know a child ticket is 5-15 years. Can you ring Trainline customer service for advice, ? They are usually pretty helpful x

Thank you for replying, I know so confusing yes re 5-15 age for child ticket, will see if trainline can help trouble is I think DH booked it on trainpal 😩I am going to try trainpal chat again this morning and GWR whatsapp but think they may have to query at the station but DS is ASD & DH hates talking to people! What a stress!! Thanks for replying though appreciate it!
