Is there anything here or nearby for a family to enjoy on a budget - we're hoping to stay at the youth hostel and want to know if there's much going on around and abouts.

Epping Forest to wander about in
There's a very old and interesting church nr Debden I think, or Theydon Bois (sorry, hopeless memory - Green something ...) and Audley End is a fab stately home not too far away- lovely grounds. Haven't been there for many,many years

Thank you - know it's not the most exciting place on earth, but means that my friend can get away for a couple of days

I was thinking a day in London as it's on tube map and takes 25 minutes and do some free activities down there, an afternoon in Epping forest with bikes, Lee Valley odeon do a kids club on a saturday morning, so the cinema.

Might have to check out the church
