DD is taking the first steps towards planning a tiny wedding in Scotland.
Can anyone recommend a fabulous hotel/castle that would permit an outdoor wedding or has a suitable beauty spot nearby.
Many Thanks.

I have a friend who organises small, bespoke holidays in Scotland. PM me if you'd like a link to her company, she might be able to help (she had a small Scottish wedding herself!).

How about Castle Lachlan? About an hour and a half from Glasgow.

The new castle is available for weddings and the old ruined castle and views over the loch is great for photos.

Fonab castle in Perthshire. It's been modernised within an inch of it's life though.

Bunchrew House near Inverness is small and very personal. It's a country house hotel.

Marr Hall and CrossBasket castle outside Glasgow

It really depends on your budget as there's no shortage of places.

Indeed budget and location(ISH) would be good.

Scotland is a big place plus your DD may have ideas about what background to the castle she wants, or even a place she has visited before.

Thanks so much for this, there are some beautiful ideas here.

Prestonfield House, Edinburgh is fabulous, and they treat you like royalty

If there is no suggested budget, I am going to go big. Stirling castle - Chapel Royal and the Great Hall. IIRC it is about 200 guests, catering is around £70-150/head and is on top of the room hire which is usually £7-£11k for a few hours.

Weddings at Stirling Castle

Enjoy your special day amidst Stirling Castle’s lavish buildings and stunning gardens, once the backdrop to royal celebrations.

This is such a fun thread - wedding planning with no budget.
Dunimarle Castle (in Fife just north of Edinburgh) has stunning wedding options and beautiful gardens.

Carberry Tower, Musselburgh

Rowallan Castle near Kilmarnock in Ayrshire. 2 beautiful castle venues (one castle c13 century and the other c17th). Both can be hired separately and have accommodation as well as function areas. They set within lovely grounds too.
