Cornwall/Devon with dog

Looking to go somewhere in Cornwall or Devon, just me and my dog for a week in May or June.
Ideally would like somewhere that has nice dog friendly places to eat, sandy beaches and a friendly atmosphere.

Any recommendations please? I've not even to that part of the UK since I was a child so not really sure where to start!

We went to Kingsand & Cawsand last Easter. It was great, very dog friendly pubs and restaurants, beautiful walks and some lovely beaches. I would recommend.

Perranporth Beach is dog friendly and lovely.

Will you have a car? What kind of accommodation are you looking for? Any particular towns or attractions you are keen to tie in a visit to? There are so many beautiful places and I would say Cornwall in general is pretty dog friendly.

For sandy beaches in Cornwall I would start by looking at Hayle/St Ives area, Sennen in the far west, or a bit further up the north coast of Cornwall around Harlyn Bay. You are spoilt for choice!

Thank you. Yes I'll have a car. Open to ideas on accommodation - was thinking probably either a small cottage type thing or mobile home. Garden or grass nearby is ideal for dog toileting!
I tend to like small historical towns, independent shops etc.
