Hi. Has anyone used this to bid for upgrades? Is it worth doing? Thanks

It's the Seatfrog app, my sister has successfully bid and e joyed the first class catering.

I travel to London and SE from Scotland most months. I have tried to use Seatfrog most times over the last 24 months or so.
I have never won an auction/upgrade.
It seems some folk are happy to pay a lot more than I am.

I use it on CrossCountry trains when I travel occasionally from the Midlands to the North. My maximum bid is £20. It's worth it to avoid the overcrowded standard carriages and having to turf some chancer out of your seat.

I've tried it a few times but never got a deal, it's also been what the price difference to upgrade would have been anyway. I think you need to travel on quiet and off peak trains.

I’ve used it Cornwall to London is a long way and £20 -£30 to upgrade to 1st class last minute is well worth it .
been lucky a couple of times

I have used Seatfrog a few times when it was first out, mainly to swap the time of train when arriving back into London after being abroad (and I have booked a much later advance ticket train to cope with flight delays) all have gone fine with mainly £10 to £20 charge. I think I have also used it once to get an upgrade to first class, which went fine too, again maybe £20. I was a big fan of it at first, but after an incident where someone commandeered my account and started to book train fares in the Birmingham area (somewhere I had not been) and the resultant messing around trying to get my money back and secure my account was annoying. I have been less keen since. I haven't had cause to use it since, but I would give it another go. I think last time I went for it, it wasn't as bargainous as it once was, with less availability and higher prices.

Thanks all. I put in my journey (travelling to Liverpool from East Anglia) and it didn’t recognise the majority of the stations I entered- I thought even if I got an upgrade for part of the way that would be something. Anyone else had this?
