Sheffield city centre

Hello. I’m visiting Sheffield for the first time next weekend so a solo female.
I’m going to a concert at Utilia Arena and plan to get the tram back into the city centre.
There is also a possibility of my train from Manchester getting in at 00:30 on Saturday evening.
Is the city centre generally safe after midnight on weekends? I will obviously take all common sense precautions and aim to get a taxi from the station to my hotel (on Queen Street).
Any advice welcomed!

Yes, it’s generally safe. Student city, it can be lively, and obviously have your wits about you, but Sheffield is not too bad safety wise. I was walking in the city centre at 11pm the other week and away from the bars it was largely empty, well lit…

Yes it will be fine as you are getting the tram back from the arena, you could either get off at the bottom of High Street & walk down & round on to Queen Street or get off at the Cathedral & walk down the side of the cathedral, cross Campo Lane & head down one of the side streets to Queen Street. Sheffield is generally a safe City, just be sensible, put your phone & anything vital inside your coat if you can or have a small cross body bag inside your coat if you have room.
