We are travelling from Ireland to cambridge for a few days early august. Can anyone recommend and pleasant hotel in the City ideally? We are travelling with 3 of our teenagers, so the tariffs are coming out pretty pricey! I would really appreciate a recommendation - something Englishy (?!) for irish hyby and children perhaps. Otherwise just something pleasant and under £100 a night would be great!!

Thank you

Have found a place in Ely. I know it is not cambridge but the train links are good and the b&b is 4 star. Cathedral House. Anyone any views on Ely and/or Cathedral House?

Ely is beautiful, famous for it's catherdral although I am not familiar with Catherdral House.

Worth looking just outside Cambridge at hotels as cost does tend to come down, Menzies and Travelodge are both about 5 miles North of Cambridge located on the A14.

There are also some nice B&B's within walking distance of the city centre around the train station.

Also worth looking at accomodion in St Ives (about 10 miles from Cambs) pretty little market town or Huntingdon.
