Please... Am trying to book somewhere for later in the year and would be very grateful to hear of the beautiful places you've stayed. Would prefer the nice end of the spectrum rather than the cheap and cheerful!

Ideally near a beach, quiet/off the beaten track OK, good facilities, walking distance to pub and shop and cafe would make it perfect!

Thanks!

this place is fab....great beaches...clean and sandy, lovely accomodation, quietish place, but lots to do.....walking and trips by car.

only downside is its at the top of a BIG hill.....great for burning off your fish and chips though!

oooh that does look nice Melly - thanks...

Now surely at least one other person on herre must have stayed somewhere good on the Welsh coast?!

We have stayed here two or three times now.

It is in Penrhyndeudraeth, a 10 minute drive from Porthmadog, but up a wee track 10 minute walk into village, but feels very isolated as it is hidden from the main road. The ffestiniog railway runs through the farm, so if you have small boys it;s perfect. We used to hear the whistle and then run down to wave to the trains....very The Railway Children.

there is a small enclosed garden with outside seating.

Fantastic beach at Black Rock Sands very close by, Portmerion 5 mins away. Osprey centre near by as well.

It's well equipped with washer dryer and a big lobby for boots and coats. There is a piano and some other instruments, and a lovely log burning stove.

We will definately go back at some point as there is lots to do in the area and it's central for the Lleyn Peninsula, Snowdonia and the coastal beaches.

great crab fishing in Porthmadog. Fantastic restuarant (Y Sygawr) in Tremadog.

the couple who own the farm are really friendly and are good with getting the kids involved (we got to bottle feed the orphaned lambs last time we were there)

and there are walks from the door through the local woodlands.

Solva is lovely to stay in.

These are fab! About to stay in our third cottage with them. Most cottages are fine for kids, some are no-dogs. Most are West Wales and close to sea.
