Dinner in Blackpool

Hi, we (me, DH and DS (10)) are off to Blackpool for 4 nights. We are staying at the Premier Inn and so will need dinner out each night - I’m looking for any recommendations please.

No dietary restrictions, though DH isn’t keen on red meat - will eat chicken and fish.

Budget wise I guess I would like to stick to under £100 each night. I don’t drink and DH would probably have a glass of wine. Thank you!

You will have to have fish and chips one night its kind of obligatory in Blackpool !

Interested in replies, as when we've been to Blackpool there's hardly any restaurants for nice food. Harry Ramsden for fish and chips?

WasherWoman25 · 15/06/2025 09:18

Blackpool and nice restaurants are not usually something you see in the same sentence lol.

We went for the air show last year, we went to Mr Basrai’s all you can eat world cuisine. Doesn’t really fit the ‘nice restaurant’ but was a bit different and had something for everyone.

Get the bus into St Annes or Lytham? Lots of nice places to eat there

ProfessionalTeaDrinker · 15/06/2025 16:48

Are you in Blackpool the entire four days or using it as a base? You might be better eating out some where else some days. Theres all the usual chain places in the centre, plenty of fish and chips along the front but I can't think of much else

Try the Cottage Chippy. It's an eat in or takeaway

Had quite a nice meal a couple of years ago in Fino Tapas.

The Wok Inn is amazing and the owner has another excellent Chinese.

ohidoliketobe · 15/06/2025 17:05

Sapori, Michael Wans Mandarin, Beach House, The Bank, Stefanis, Upper Deck, la Bottega, Abingdon Streed market food hall. Plenty of really good places but dependa on the cuisine. Michael wans is my favourite.

Do not go Basrais. Notorious locally for food poisoning.

Michael Wans Mandarin is amazing!

You might like Abingdon Street Market.

It’s an independent food hall with a cocktail bar.

Toastandjam16 · 15/06/2025 17:09

We went here for sit down fish and chips the other month and it was really nice

We ate in Stefani's Pizzaria on Friday. Amazing!

abricotine · 15/06/2025 17:11

I’ll be honest, Harry Ramsden’s is pretty poor. The second time we went up to Fleetwood — somewhere in St Anne’s got the best reviews, but they all seem to close really early!
the Fleetwood one ripped us off and when we got to the prom we were a couple of portions short so I won’t recommend it 😆

If you drive the Eagle at Wheeton just outside Blackpool does great food.

TeeNoG · 15/06/2025 18:28

Thanks so much all, some great suggestions here. We will spend the next few days perusing menus and book some tables 🙂

Abingdon street market, common bar, stefanis pizza, Michael wan’s, Yorkshire fisheries for a chippy tea. Definitely not Mr Basrais!

JamVal1013 · 15/06/2025 19:10

Seniors fish and chips. There's a few locations. Probably online. Echo PP about going into St Anne's and Lytham

Favouritefruits · 15/06/2025 19:10

Definitely book a table for the Mandarin!

Surroundedbyfools · 15/06/2025 19:17

you guys should try out Abingdon street market one day. It has lots of different food places. We went last summer and between us all in the group we all had things from different sections and they were all delicious! Obviously Blackpool is awash with chippies but Bentleys is defo the best so you could try there too. Michael wans mandarin is really good too !

Agreed with all of these. Hip Hop Chicken, too, plus the new Japanese place (Kome Shokudo) is really nice.

OhPolly · 15/06/2025 19:26

The eating inn, is a good steak house!

omg i love that place amazing

also if you like ice cream you must go to Notarianni Ices

NattyQuail · 15/06/2025 19:35

Vintro Lounge, Nandos and West Coast Rock cafe if you want something nice and casual. There's another all you can eat buffet place recently opened, on Church Street near Halifax bank. Umami, or something. Nice place.
