Centre parcs - complaints

Hi all, I went to centre parcs over the weekend and had a lovely time with my husband and 2 children (little girl 2 years and boy 6 weeks old). Although we did have a lovely time we had a serious incident happen on the last day. While walking with my daughter on reins and baby in the pram (husband was taking the bikes back) a CP van came around the corner and nearly hit both my children and myself. I physically had to chuck the pram and my daughter out the way. The van only stopped because I screamed. There is no pavements at CP as it’s a no drive zone except on arrival and departure days but there is a 10mph. Upon screaming the van driver slammed on and asked what happened. I was shaken up and told him he nearly ran us over. He then said “sorry i was in a world of my own” and then carried on with his work. I was so shaken up and crying. I did go to guest services to report it with the registration details of the van. The women was apologetic and offered us free table tennis as a gesture of good will which although nice it was the last thing we wanted to do. Upon returning home and the more I think about the incident it scares me of how different this could of been. I have written to CP head office and explained it ruined our last day. I have also asked for a full investigation & they review the CCTV. How long do you think it is reasonable to wait for a response. My concern is I don’t want any child or adult to be hurt if the driver is “in a world of his own again”

thanks for reading x

I would give it until mon day and then I’d send a chaser and also call

but I’d be surprised if they don’t contact you sooner

As you've gone to head office (and rightly so) and asked them to review CCTV etc. That will take time - and presumably they'll want to talk to the driver as well... (if he doesn't work every day for example that may take a few days for them to arrange that) That will take a bit of time - to do all of that so I'd give them a week to respond - perhaps they may give you an interim response in the meantime so you know they are investigating.

I'd have been frightened by this too and I think you're right to complain formally.

Thank you! I agree probably will take some time for them to investigate the matter. I’ve had no response from them yet so hoping they may just send an email to say they have received the complaint. I just don’t want anything more serious happening in the meantime! It was an awful experience xx
