We are staying for two nights in London next week. The first night we are seeing Bryan Adams in Concert and the following day/night our kids are joining us. So, we have the first day to ourselves. Any recommendations as to what we should do in London/where to eat? Thanks

Is that at the O2? Depending on how adventurous you are you could climb it and walk across the roof.

What is the sort of thing you like to do? Art galleries? Shopping? History?

What do you like to do? London has everything.

Go to the Time Out webpage for events. Visit London is rhe local tourist board. Londonist helps out with London culture (including common cultural agreements such as how to ride a tube escalator) and news that Visit London misses out (and they miss a lot).

I've lived here 30 years My favourite places:

Lunch: either of the Beigel shops in Brick Lane/Arments Pie & Mash/the Giggling Pig at Borough Market for sausage rolls/Govinda's in Oxford Street for vegan/vegetarian

Dinner: Roast Borough Market/Pasta Brown Covent Garden/Dishoom (expect to queue)/Rosa's Thai near Baker Street, The Porterhouse in Maiden Lane for Irish food, J Sheekey for seafood...i could go on.

There's loads of recommendations on the London board already, check them out!

The speedboat rides down the Thames are fun- go for the ones that spend more time past tower bridge as that’s where there are no limits.

Bateux lunch cruise is always good on the Thames

Tour of The Royal Albert Hall, walk to lunch at The Wolseley and then a mooch around Liberty of London and Fortnum & Mason.
