Anglesey holiday base for toddlers?

Hi, hoping for some advice please as overwhelmed with choice!

We (family of four including two toddlers) are hoping to go to Anglesey at the end of June, maybe for a week. I’m trying to work out where the best place to base ourselves would be as we will try to see a lot of the island but also with toddlers need quite a bit of unstructured ‘down time’. Having a nice beach nearby would be nice but also a place to stroll about and a play park to let them burn off steam at awkward times of the day like when the youngest is napping so the eldest would need entertaining close to home.

Benllech looks like it has a lovely beach with calm water for paddling in but no play park from what I can tell. Newborough looks really gorgeous and does have a park but not sure if it is more of a wild beach (beautiful but not the place for a three year old to learn to swim?). Llangefni seems convenient (no beach though!) but it isnt even mentioned in my travel guide which suggests it might not be the best place to visit? I am just basing this on scraps from my research though, I’d love to be told I’m wrong! I am sure there are many other fabulous places but I am getting decision paralysis! Any advice appreciated!

I was going to answer Benllech, before I read your post, but I have no idea about the play park situation as not something we needed when there.

It does have parking close to the beach, a lovely long beach so people can be spread out and can find room for cricket or big sand castles or frisbee or whatever. It has toilets and it has a shop for ice-creams and coffee and the like.

Some of the caravan parks might have swings slidesetc? If that is what you need from a playpark?
The beach is enough entertainment? Which equipment do you require?

Newborough beach can be very windy but lovely to visit for sand dunes pine trees etc
Benllech best for toddler

Thanks for the advice everyone! I am hoping the beach is enough (especially because we have parks at home so if we travel across the country to spend the weekend pushing them on swings it would be a bit ridiculous!) but they havent really been on them before so I wasnt sure if they would enjoy it enough to stay busy all day so a park we can walk to would have been a good addition but I am sure we can make plenty of fun on the sand!

Think we will stick to Benllech as it does sound lovely and I will keep Newborough as a day trip from there as it looks really nice!
