Not been since a Robbie Williams concert years ago. Lasting impression was the huge roundabouts!

Anyway, can anyone recommend a nice area to eat and drink where you can sit outside close to the centre. Is there anything like Brindley Place in Birmingham?

Why on earth would you visit Milton Keynes without being required to do so?

Haha good question but it’s a half way meeting point from London and Birmingham..

I live in Milton Keynes, there’s the big shopping centre with lots of chain restaurants, some have outside space for nice weather. Just the other side of the road is theatre district again with lots of places to eat ans drink. Further down (about 10-15 minute walk) is the hub area with a nice square and the likes of Nandos, las igunanas, turtle bay and few independent places. You could drive there and park outside or if coming from train station walk it in about ten minutes.
happy to answer any more questions, I’ve lived here my whole life and love it

The Swan Inn is nice - it's in Milton Keynes Village, which is a quaint little village in the middle of MK swallowed up by the city. Lovely tranquil garden and good food, you'd never guess you were in MK.

Obviously do Oxford instead of MK 😂 Oxford is steeped in history and culture, MK has a great shopping centre - it’s a no brainer

Oxford is nicer, but more out of the way for you both. If it doesn't have to be Milton Keynes in particular, just somewhere convenient for both B'ham and London, Woburn is a very pretty town just off the M1.
