Cotswold Hotel Recommendations

Tried to book The Painswick but unfortunately the one night in August we needed was fully booked. Can anyone recommend something else in the Cotswolds that is similar to The Painswick? We will be driving from Bath and will be visiting Cheltenham the next day. Ideally a traditional country house hotel with good food and service.

Burleigh Court looks nice. What sort of experience are you looking for?

We are kiwis returning to the UK after several years and want the full traditional English experience. Not too chintzy though! Ideally a beautiful setting, good traditional British food. Not a massive conference centre!

The Fish. Gorgeous rooms, quirky ones if you want a hot tub type experience.

The Lion Inn in Winchcombe is nice. We recommend to friends and they always say how lovely it is.

The PIG in Barnsley?

The Fish is lovely. You’d definitely need a car though. Lygon Arms is in the centre of Broadway so you can go out on foot. Cowley Manor has a lovely spa if that’s your thing.

I’d agree, very old and quirky.

I know most of the hotels mentioned, all are good, though The Fish might be a little too isolated. The Greenway at Shurdington is very handy for getting into Cheltenham town, it's got a nice little spa too.
