London pubs

I'm heading over to London next Friday night. Where would you recommend for good pub food and a nice atmosphere for a drink or two after? Maybe live music too.

Google maps has brought up so many options, I'm a bit overwhelmed!

I'm staying in Piccadilly.

The George is amazing. Not sure if live music but the food is delicious and it's nice atmosphere

Then George does do live music on Friday and Saturday nights.

Depends what you're looking for, touristy, traditional, higher end?

More casual with a bit of atmosphere. Don't mind touristy.

Unsure about music but from Piccadilly:

• The only running footman
• Burlington Arms
• Several pubs around shepherds market which is a nice area

Not quite a pub but if you are staying on Piccadilly you have to visit www.gordonswinebar.com/ very, very unique and always a great atmosphere

You don't have to go far to find a good pub. Don't overthink it, most are good. Just walk in, sense the vibe, and decide!

The Chandos in St Martin's Lane is nice. I love the Shaftesbury near Leicester Square for it's interior. A bit further away in Victoria Street is the Albert which has an excellent choice of drinks, good food and friendly staff. There are loads more I'd happily go into!

The Harp, just round the corner from the Chandos, is regularly voted the best pub in London for the quality of its beer. It has a comfy seating area upstairs too.
