Family-friendly pub/restaurant with onsite or nearby accommodation in Derby/Nottingham area for group party

Posted this in a different talk topic over the weekend, but only got one response, so trying again here.

I'm organising a group party, with people travelling from northern England and London, so we need a central location.
Somewhere around Derby/Nottingham would be ideal. The specific location doesn't matter so much, more the proximity to the M1 or A1 for ease of travel.

It's for around 30 people; 20 adults and 10 children. We will all need overnight accommodation for one night (approx 10 bedrooms).
We must have access to outside space throughout the day for the children.

I'm struggling to find suitable venues as I don't know this area at all.

I've contacted several large hotels; some of them only cater for larger groups than ours, others are working out quite expensive with function room hire, overnight accommodation and catering.

I'm thinking what would be great is a lovely pub/restaurant we could take over a corner of. It would be relaxed, and the food's bound to be nicer. But we would need it to have enough accommodation onsite, or be within walking distance to a Premier Inn or similar.

I'm a bit clueless how to research this without any knowledge of the area.

Would any mumsnetters in this area have any recommendations?

Try YHA Sherwood Forest. They have private rooms but also the option to book the whole place (but not sure if you can for just one night). It has a garden and games room, but importantly it’s just 5 mins walk from the Royal Oak pub, and also Forest Lodge Hotel which has a nice restaurant (and might have some rooms available).

This is a hall that’s divided into apartments in a lovely area https://www.groupaccommodation.com/properties/hargate-hall-buxton-derbyshire

This pub has a function room and is directly opposite the Mercure Hotel. There is also a massive recreation ground with children's park 5 minutes walk away.

This place is just off the A52 on the outskirts of Derby.
It's a character pub owned by Marstons, though the menu is more upmarket than their usual chain pub stuff. There's also a pizza oven and a huge garden/terrace with lovely views.
They also have a private function room and an adjoining hotel.

I would suggest the Farmhouse at Mackworth or the Great Northern at Mickleover.

If the weather is a bit warmer, I don't know what the accommodation itself is like but Grundy's Tavern have great pizza mon to Sat and a big outdoor area, plus covered/ outdoor courtyard.

Definitely try to see if you can rent a YH then find a local pub with a function room or larger restaurant area.

Possibly a bit further off the M1 than intended but the Grouse and Claret at Rowsley is in a lovely area

Lion and Swan in Congleton (if that's not too far out the way, around 50min-1hr from Nottingham centre). They have a pub that they rent out, Event Hire – Radley & Co. and also have rooms HOTEL – Lion and Swan

Thanks so much everyone, I will investigate all these suggestions.
