Lost passport

Hello. I am going abroad in September and need to apply for passport.
My problem is I haven’t used passport for 20 years and it is now lost. I also can’t remember if it was a child or adult passport. How would I go about getting a new oneThankyou

There is only one way to get a passport - apply to the passport office. Tick the box that you have lost your old passport and follow the instructions.

If you go on the gov.uk website it tells you everything you need to do.

You need to report it lost online first then they will give you a reference number which you need to apply for your new one .

Just google apply for replacement passport and follow the link but you need to report your lost one first .

you can also get the forms from the post office but that takes longer and costs more .

You would need to get a photo done in the kiosks in Tesco etc too .
I just had to replace mine and it would’ve took about a week to arrive if they had told me they were waiting for the reference number .

its all pretty simple if you do it online it’s self explanatory.
