We fancy a break in mid July before most of the schools break up. dh quite fancies Snowdonia if we stay in UK. Can anyone recommend somewhere to stay, preferably with bad weather facilities just in case!

No recommendation of where to stay but a great one for something to do... 'Dinorwic' the 'electric mountain'. Fascinating for anyone about 7 or 8 upwards.

I know a few people who have stayed at Greenacres on Black Rock Sands and recommended it. DH and I stayed at a more basic campsite just up the road from it a few years ago. It is right on an amazing beach, easy access to Snowdonia, Porthmadog, Portmeirion, the Llyn Peninsula etc.

By the way... I stayed on the Haven site near Criccieth and I'd recommend avoiding it like the plague!

dh has decided he would prefer a cottage to an actual resort. Anything similar to Bosinver Farm or West Banbury cottages around there (ie. a small complex of accommodation , pool, games room etc)?
