Want to go out for the day, blow some cobwebs away. Is Southsea worth visiting?

Hi, it depends what you are after and which bit you go to. A windy walk along the stony sea front with a stop off for tea and cake at tenth hole or coffee cup, fish and chips on the pier, naff arcades for half hour... not many decent shops in Southsea but plenty of places to eat around Osborne Rd, can visit Southsea Castle for half hour. Def don't go to the Aquarium. Part of the sea front is closed for works but there is a detour, Old Portsmouth is nice for a short while, eat at ABar or fish place. Gunwharf for shopping outlets... Albert Road for independent shops. The Hard to peer at the historic ships. Southsea is fine. Give Portsmouth a miss! All level so easy for wheelchairs/pushchairs. Enjoy if you do go!
