Bus replacement on train journey

I need to get to Denmark Hill on Sunday for nephews birthday party. Just noticed that there’s a replacement bus service from Herne Hill to Denmark Hill. Normally I get the train and walk the three mins to their flat.

just wondering if these are efficient services or am I going to be caught out waiting in the cold for buses?

50:50. They can be good, but I seem to get stranded or delayed by them, at least half the time!

Isn't Herne Hill to Denmark Hill only a 15 min walk? Is that not possible to do?

It's not far but it is...hilly. if the rail replacement doesn't run when you want it to there are several service buses on that route that would take no more than 15 mins I'd have thought but check Google maps or city mapper or tfl for the time you want

it Took 2.5 hours but because the storm had trees down on the line. Once the man at the station told me how to walk through to get the replacement bus it was a doddle. BUT I got on the wrong bus going back but all was ok because he let me off a bit down the road and I had to walk back.

A bit of a trek. I’d do it again but not if I could put it off.
