20mph Speed ticket

I got caught today doing between 35-40 on a 20 road. It was a country lane coming into a 20 (60 to a 20) I was in a complete panic and rush because my mum had called me at work to say my 2 year old was really sick, not an excuse at all I should have known better. However I am really worried now at what my penalty will be, will I be banned? :( I have 0 points on my license and have been driving for 9 years

I think that will be a band B fine. If you look it up it will tell you the maximum penalty for that band

It will absolutely be a fine and points, how much depends on the band.

But you could easily be banned for this, as a general rule if you’re caught driving in excess of 45-50% of the speed limit then you could be given an instant driving ban.
