Hi. Looking for some recommendations please for a night away possibly two for a couple in our 40s.

We are situated in the midlands so preferably somewhere about 50ish miles, north or south. Thank you x

Is there anything you are interested in for example hiking, scenery, the sea, a city break etc?

York is great for a city break- 'The Grand' hotel is great - very luxurious but also loads of more budget options. Lots to do and see and a really walkable city, Very easy to get there on the train too.

Hi @username3678
Not really, we enjoy having a wonder and seeing what's around, but not hoping to see anything in particular. We've been having a rough patch so just looking to get away and spend some time together x

You might consider Bakewell to the north or Burford to the south. Both charming. I would happily spend time in either.

London?

It depends very much on what you like doing. My idea of a nice weekend break would be a cosy pub with log fires set in rolling countryside with plenty of walks to choose from. I especially like the Yorkshire dales or moors or Derbyshire. I also love a nice seaside break like Whitby. Whitby is lovely, with a beach, a pier, shops to potter round, and the best fish and chips ever.
