Depends what you enjoy.
The Minster is very beautiful inside, The Castle Museum is great, although it takes a fair bit of time out of your day. I personally love Fairfax House and a wander round the city walls is a must.
York is so interesting to just stroll around, cute little pubs - The Duke of York (mulled cider) and Ye Olde Starre Inn.
A walk along along the river, even at night is lovely, The Star in the City for food and drinks and the cutest little coffee shop
called Dyls, which I think is an old gatehouse.

An early evening ghost walk is fun
