Birmingham safe?

Supposed to be travelling to Birmingham tomorrow (Friday 9th) for the weekend. Our hotel is in Jewellery quarter. Me, my mother and my two kids (4.5 & 2.5) are planning to go to Lego and sea life. Is it safe? Been a bit worried about going due to the riot talk etc but not sure if I'm being over cautious. If I have to lose the £400 or so that I've paid then I will if it's the better option but my kids are so excited to go. The fear mongering of riots though is making me worry. Anyone in Birmingham that can say what it's like?

The areas where the riots were meant to take place are not in the city centre.
I would go.

So, Jewellery Quarter and the bullring is okay?

There was a peaceful protest yesterday in the JQ.

There has been no riots in Birmingham and there aren't going to be any - the far right know full well if they try anything there they will get clobbered.

There were disturbances in Bordesley Green on Monday but that's miles from where you'll be.

There's talk of something at Grand Central at the weekend but I will be genuinely surprised if anyone except anti-fash turn out.
