Royal Tunbridge Wells

I might be spending Friday afternoon and night in tunbridge wells so I'm looking for things to do (the cheaper the better) and also advice for a place to stay. I've got a good price for the travel lodge but it says the car park is small and you might not get a space so does anyone know if there is parking near by?

There is a multi story car park nearby (near the train station).
You can potter around the Pantiles for free which is nice on a sunny day. There are a few national trust places nearby if you are a member (obviously a peak middle class area and activity!)

It's lovely there. There's a beautiful park in the town which often has free events/ music .

An art gallery in The Pantiles. The Amelia Scott library is worth a visit too. Both free. Pret has the cheapest coffee (and 50p off if you take your own cup).

Top of town has gone downhill but the common is nice to walk around. High Rocks is really pretty too.

Have a lovely stay.

Also just noticed that there's an antiques and vintage fair in The Pantiles this weekend which should be interesting (and free).
