Poole or Bournemouth

Poole or Bournemouth for 1 night/2days? I have been to Bournemouth many times but can't recall ever going to Poole. Is it worth a visit? I have a meeting in Poole so wanted to be reasonably close. Any other suggestions?

Poole town centre is okay, and nothing special. However, the quay is lovely to walk along, and also Sandbanks. Beautiful sandy beach.

Bournemouth if the weather is nice, I wouldn't go into the town centre at night anymore though :(
