Hi 👋

Any advice welcomed and appreciated …. I have a 3 and 9 year old, DH and we’d love to go to Scotland for a week . I don’t really know where to start- we normally go abroad euro camping. But Scotland looks lovely. We live in Yorkshire so don’t want to drive to the top end of Scotland.

any recommendations of areas or even places you’ve stayed? We are wanting some kind of cottage in a village or countryside but would love to visit sites or Edinburgh etc

thank you ☺️

Have sent you a message. Borders. We have a cottage. Easy drive to trains to Edinburgh etc.

North Berwick. Lovely beaches and train is 30
minutes to centre of Edinburgh.

Gleneagles if your budget is big! Amazing for kids.

Perthshire is stunning and East Neuk of Fife, we stayed in a lovely glamping site in Creil:

crieff Hydro

kilconquhar castle

Lcokdown rather scuppered our plans, DD is off to Uni next year, but I always fancied staying here: www.harvestmoonholidays.com
It is under an hour from Edinburgh.

You could break the journey up/down with stops in Northumberland.

We spent a week at Loch Ken near Castle Douglas. We loved it. Swimming kayaking a ruined castle kids playing. It's a campsite but I think it has lodges as well.

Or Kinlochlevie, some lovely walks/water stuff near there.

Or Kirkcudbright. Always something going on, fetes, festivals etc. I love it there!

Hello! I would highly recommend making a visit to any of the Scottish castle's - depending on where you're going there are a lot of amazing ones around Perth - I've recently been up to Scotland and visited Glamis Castle and Blair Atholl with my family. We booked both our visits through HeritageXplore - I think it is new but you can bulk book which made the whole process a lot easier. They've got a few cool places on HX, worth checking out.

This ^. Google the area, loads of outdoor activities, secluded beaches and little town holiday activities.
