Can anyone tell me what the food options are like if travelling first class with LNER? The menus look a bit poor but wondered what the snack option are outwith the menu and if you can order unlimited menu items?

They allow you one option of the mains. They have enough for everyone to have of something. You may strike it lucky and be able to add some extra sandwiches, as the staff will go up and down the carriage with their trolleys as passengers join or leave.

Snacks include small bags of crisps, fruit, packets of biscuits etc. They are handed out quite freely.

The snacks were just crisps or shortbread/ginger biscuits when I travelled.

At the moment
ham and coleslaw sandwich
emmental roll
some kind of pork and rice
crumpets
salad
(there will also be a veg option but cant recall)

lemon pot
banana
apple
crisps
brownie

biscuits with tea/coffee

Think that sit- I spend too much time on LNER. It is the worst food rotation in years at the moment. I would go crumpet.

You cant order unlimited- in fact quite often you dont get anything a they run out and there is regularly no choice as only 1 thing left.

It's on the website. Last time I went a few months ago there was some kind of problem so it was self service. Not unlimited.

It's worth it imo for more space but not on the value of the food.

So I have the unfortunate pleasure of travelling lner on a regular basis. The menu on offer depends on the length of the journey of the train ie a train from London to Edinburgh has a wider menu than some of the shorter journeys. The menus are online

The cooked breakfast is quite good but for lunch or dinner I find their other options too small a portion personally. It tends to be fruit, crisps and packs of biscuits or mini bits of cake as the snacks.
